Preliminary Agenda: Update from San Diego County Sheriff’s Department about Ramona substation, presentation by Ramona Cannabis Co. on the plans for their new building at 736 Montecito Way — the county Board of Supervisors have asked the applicant to receive feedback from the local planning groups and they are presenting the plan for feedback, discussion and recommendations requested of the Ramona Community Planning Group by county Supervisor Joel Anderson’s office regarding rodeos that are permitted through the Sheriff’s Department — feedback and recommendations to include community input, Sheriff’s Department input, and overall success of the permitted activity from application to post event, presentation by county Planning and Development Services on 2023 Housing Zoning Ordinance Update, monthly update from Caltrans on state Route 67 and state Route 78 projects — major repaving project, Mina de Oro boulder removal, intersection of SR67 and Mussey Grade Road regarding status of right turn only proposal, the Phase One South Bypass is a connector between Mussey Grade Road and Dye Road that can be found in the Ramona Community Plan and is part of the Ramona Roads Master Plan — if this connector were completed, it would add an option for traffic wanting to enter SR67 from Mussey Grade Road so that they could access the bypass to Dye Road and enter SR67 from Dye Road, and update on the SR67 Improvement Project; request a narcan naloxone vending machine for easy access to lifesaving medicine with placement at the Ramona Community Library for anonymous access with an estimated cost of $3,500; proposal that the predominantly rural unincorporated communities of San Diego County be recognized and admitted as a new San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) Advisory Board member — the RCPG to support this initiative via a letter to the chairperson of the SANDAG Board of Directors and all five county Supervisors — the new “San Diego County Unincorporated Communities” Advisory Board member would represent the unique needs of this geographically diverse population including their health, safety, transportation, housing and work opportunities, the concerns of the agricultural industry, the development of the agritourism industry, the growth of the outdoor recreational industry, and the protection of our vast Open Space Preserves —the “San Diego County Unincorporated Communities” Advisory Board member and their alternate would be selected from among one of the 28 elected Community Planning Groups and/or appointed Community Sponsor Groups Chairs — these 28 Community Planning and Sponsor Group Chairs would select a representative and alternate every two years; election of Ramona Community Planning Group officers for 2023: chair, vicechair and secretary; annual county training for Planning Group members and biennial ethics training; announcements and correspondence received; Ramona Design Review Board report; recommend an RCPG member to be on the Design Review Board (Seat 9) and serve as the RCPG representative on the Design Review Board; concerns from members, future agenda item requests, addition and confirmation of new/continuing subcommittee members, meeting updates of the county Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and Traffic Advisory Committee; next RCPG meeting set for Thursday, Feb. 2 at the Ramona Community Library, 1275 Main St.
