Composting on your farm, ranch, or large property is an ideal way to manage crop residues, manures, and other organic waste while creating a stellar soil amendment. During this three-week course, we will address the unique strategies, challenges, and opportunities that arise through medium-scale composting.

This course does not address typical residential composting or large-scale commercial composting. It is intended for those mid-sized systems that fall in between, particularly farms and horse ranches.

• Composting/water saving benefits

Join us for the inaugural Voluntary Conservation and Land Management Assistance Workshop! This workshop assists property owners looking for funding or technical assistance to manage or conserve their property.

This will be the first in what we hope to become an annual regional workshop for property owners, land managers, and other organizations looking for funding or technical assistance on preserving biodiversity and wildlife, resource management for farmers, adding value to their current uses and practices, and helping landowners to understand planning processes and receive assistance.

This workshop is focused on matching private property owners, farmers, non-profits, and local businesses with support for conservation and sustainable land management practices.

Who Should Attend?

Land managers* who maintain working lands interested in learning about programs that assist with current operations; or
Land managers seeking opportunities to initiate conservation or sustainable land management practices; or
Organizations interested in opportunities for conservation or sustainable land management practices on privately-owned lands.
* Land managers may include property owners, lessees, land managers, etc.

Las invitamos a participar del Taller inaugural voluntario de asistencia de gestión y conservación de suelo. Este taller está destinado a propietarios de terrenos que buscan financiación o asistencia técnica para gestionar o conservar su propiedad.

Será el primero de lo que esperamos se convierta en una serie anual de talleres regionales para propietarios, administradores de terrenos y otras organizaciones que necesiten financiación o asistencia técnica para preservar la biodiversidad y la vida silvestre y abordar la gestión de recursos para agricultores, y así añadir valor a sus usos y prácticas actuales y ayudar a los propietarios de terrenos a comprender los procesos de planificación y recibir asistencia.

Este taller está orientado a acercar a propietarios privados, agricultores, asociaciones sin fines de lucro y empresas locales al apoyo necesario para las prácticas de conservación y gestión sostenible de suelos.

¿Quiénes deben asistir?

Administradores de terrenos* encargados del mantenimiento de suelos que estén interesados en aprender sobre programas de asistencia de operaciones actuales;
administradores de terrenos que busquen oportunidades para iniciar prácticas de conservación y gestión sostenible de suelos; u
organizaciones interesadas en oportunidades para implementar prácticas de conservación o gestión sostenibles de suelos en terrenos privados.
