Solana Center compost seminar

Join Solana Center at the Water Conservation Garden for a 2-hour presentation where you will learn the basics of traditional backyard composting. Using trial-tested advice and interactive demonstrations, experienced educators will teach you all you need to know to get started with a bin that fits your needs and lifestyle.

This workshop will be held in person and outdoors. We ask that all attendees follow current public health guidelines to protect themselves and others from the spread of Covid-19, including wearing a mask if you have not been vaccinated.

In this workshop, we will cover the following

– What is composting and why it is so important

– What tools and materials you’ll need

– Which items are compostable and which are not

– Building and maintaining a compost pile
