Independence Day Federal Holiday

Fourth of July celebrations will take place as usual on July 4.
But Federal law establishes public holidays for Federal employees. As most Federal employees work on a Monday through Friday schedule, when a holiday falls on a nonworkday such as Saturday or Sunday, the holiday usually is observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).
Post offices and governmental offices will be closed. |
