Welcome to Ramona CA, the geographic center of San Diego county, with access to repeaters that cover most of southern California and links beyond. This is particularly important because almost all of Ramona’s commercial and emergency communications systems are located on Mt. Woodson. Should the power be lost there (or worse) we would be isolated. Our access to other VHF/UHF repeaters and HF systems will be our only way to stay in touch with the outside world. Are you ready?
Dec 2: Technician Class held in Bonita. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org and put “Dec 2 Bonita Class” in the subject line. If accepted, plan to arrive at 8:15 AM for an all day class and test.
Dec 9: ROARS Christmas Dinner in lieu of meeting. 5pm at El Michoacán.
Jan 21-27: Quartzfest. This week-long ARRL-sponsored specialty convention is in the open desert just south of Quartzsite, AZ. Mobile ham shacks and antennas, RV installations, portable and off-the-grid systems, radio education and more.
