Ladies Who Lunch November 14 - 2018

Please join the Ladies at the Ramona Mainstage on WEDNESDAY, November 14 at Noon, and meet new friends, network with old friends, share your business, and have a delicious lunch served by The Main Course Restaurant! All of this while we support the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet as they launch their “Share Your Christmas” program where they feed and give gifts to our neighbors who need help, this year, (more on that below.)

The Main Course Restaurant is serving up something special for us in the Ramona Mainstage. The menu will include your choice of:

* Chicken Cobb Salad
* Fish and Chips
* Prime Rib Dip Sandwich with Fries

Price of $15 includes iced tea, but the tip is not included. Please RSVP before November 12 so we can get a count for food, but you will order at the event, so you can make special requests, such as no tomatoes on salad or whatever.

If you have a small business or product and want to network, meet new people, or try various restaurants in town, this is the place to meet ladies from Ramona and our local backcountry areas. Remember to bring a raffle prize to give away, in order to speak for a couple of minutes about yourself, your product or service. Ramona Food and Clothes Closet will be this month’s non-profit beneficiary.

The Ramona Food and Clothes Closet will be holding its annual Share Your Christmas Program on Friday December 14 from 10-2. Our program has been serving low income families for many years. During this event hundreds of children ages 1 to 12 will receive a new unwrapped toy, food for their family, and a small stocking stuffer.

Pre-qualified parents come into the store to choose age appropriate gifts for their children. Last year we gave out 438 toys and 182 food boxes to our local families from Ramona, Julian, Santa Isabel, Warner Springs, Borrego Springs and back country areas! We anticipate many more this year.

Sign-ups for parents are: Fri Dec 1, Sat Dec 2 and Thurs Dec 7, 10am-noon and 1:00-3:00pm. On Sat Dec 2 and Thurs Dec 7 we will also doing sign-ups from 5:00-7:00pm.

How you can help: Collect new unwrapped toys and canned/boxed food. Another way is to encourage businesses and individuals to hold a drive for us or when having a holiday party/lunch/dinner/golf tournament etc., ask for a donation of an item as the “entrance” fee. This year we will be collecting items and gift certificates from local businesses to make up a large basket that we will raffle off.

Here are some of the items we will be looking for: New toys and gift certificates for children ages 0-12 years of age. Unexpired food items: Canned ham, cranberries, yams, chicken broth. Boxed mashed potatoes, stuffing, cereal or oatmeal, muffin/biscuit mix, can/box milk and gravy.

Remember ALL of our toys and food distribution stays local!! 

Mary Halliday wants to remind you, these are items of need for this particular program BUT, we need all kinds of food all year long to help the needy within RFCC’s six areas of community service. Ramona, Santa Ysabel, Julian, Warner Springs, Borrego Springs, Ranchita and outlying area.
