Acorn Festival

Learn about the mighty oak, the hearty acorn and how the Kumeyaay Indians used natural vegetation in their daily lives. We’ll host lots of fun, family-friendly activities and share informational booths.¬†Howka! In celebration of the acorn harvest, which historically took place in these foothills, we will learn and practice Kumeyaay traditions. The park will come alive with interactive displays, crafts, storytelling and acorn grinding.

Don’t miss a special Native American storytelling with Running Grunion at 11 a.m.!

This is a free event for all ages, but parking is $3.

Inclement weather will cancel this event.
